Last weekend, my daughter and her husband threw a party to let their friends and family be the first to know the gender of their little one.

As we entered the room we were given a choice of wearing a pink or blue ribbon to display our baby gender prediction. I had been calling this baby a “she” from the moment I found out Kalli was pregnant and I was sure we there to simply confirm that.

Promptly at 7:15 (to allow for guests with small children to get done before bedtime), we all grabbed a disguised cupcake. The frosting was blue, pink, or white. I took a blue one just to be funny. Then we dialed up far-away friends on several phones to watch via face-time.  We all simultaneously took a bite of our cupcake.

What an experience. What a privilege. I’m going to have a grandchild -and it’s a boy!
